Pakistani police arrest five in killings


ABDULLAH TOWN, Pakistan, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Pakistani police said they arrested five suspects allegedly involved in sectarian killings in Karachi.

The Crime Investigation Department carried out an operation in the Abdullah Town area and arrested Ibrahim, Shakeel Malik, Hazrat Anees, Niazullah and Abdul Jalil Anwar, Dawn News reported Friday.

Two grenades, two AK-47s and three pistols were recovered from the suspects, a CID official said.

The suspects, all members of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, told investigators that they were involved in as many as eight incidents of target killings, the CID official said.
