PETA has revealed malicious animal abuse by farm employees and managers in Iowa, as well as meat poisoning.
PETA organisation (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) has been observing activities at a pig farm in Iowa under cover for three months. This farm breeds piglets which are later used for Hormel products. PETA revealed malicious animal abuse by farm employees and managers. During the investigation of activities on the far, even the management changed, but this did not stop them from neglecting and being cruel to the pigs.
PETA discovered some horrible things. For instance, an animal supervisor has shoved a cane into a sow's vagina, struck her on the back about 17 times.
Multiple pigs were beaten with metal rods, and lacerations were found on more than 30 sows - which is probably evidence of more abuse.
An employee used a herding board to beat a piglet and this was not the only case of that kind. A supervisor was seen with another worker jabbing clothespins into pigs' eyes and faces, while the same supervisor was seen kicking a pig in its genital, belly and face to make it move, telling the PETA investigator: “"You gotta beat on the bitch. Make her cry”.
These are not the only cases of cruelty found, which did not stop at animals, PETA claims. Their investigators have revealed that meat intended for human consumption was sprayed with chemicals scientifically linked to certain types of cancer.
PETA invited everyone to boycott meat produced by Hormel. You can see the horror that went on the Iowa pig farm in the attached video and photo gallery. Note that the images and footage may be disturbing.
