Kuret: Both Kerum And Ostojic Have A Lot To Learn

Split Mayor Ivan Kuret

Ivan Kuret will decide whether he will invite his voters to vote for Kerum or Ostojic in ten days` time.

SPLIT, CROATIA – Split Mayor Ivan Kuret has still not made up his mind whether he will invite his voters to vote for Zeljko Kerum or Ranko Ostojic in the second round of the elections for Split mayor.

He will reach this decision in ten days` time, after observing the behaviour of the possible mayors in the electoral campaign, the Slobodna Dalmacija daily writes.

- I am thankful to the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) for the opportunity of serving as mayor for 22 months, but I will remain true to myself. The city is above everything – Kuret said, adding that both Kerum and Ostojic had a lot to learn.-.--.-Zeljko Kerum - Ranko Ostojic - Ivan Kuret

HDZ in poor state

- They have to convince me that they are worthy of this post – he said.

Although he did not qualify for the by-elections, the still current Split mayor is pleased with the electoral results, as well as the fact that he has gathered several thousand votes more than the HDZ party.

He commented on the Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader`s statement, who said he was wrong not to have ran for the City Council:

- I have no interest in the position of a councillor, I am not a man who would attend sittings once a month, but an operative agent who wants to work. I will be available for Kerum and Ostojic, not because of them, but because of the city. But only if they convince me they are worthy of this post – Kuret said.
