Moviegoers shocked 'Artist' is silent

Moviegoers shocked

LONDON, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Britain's Odeon Liverpool One theater says it issued refunds to a handful of disappointed patrons who said they weren't aware "The Artist" was a silent movie.

The black-and-white film starring Jean Dujardin won the Golden Globe Award for Best Musical or Comedy Sunday, and was nominated for 12 BAFTAs Tuesday.

"Odeon Liverpool One can confirm it has issued a small number of refunds to guests who were unaware that 'The Artist' was a silent film," a theater representative told the Daily Telegraph. "The cinema is happy to offer guests a refund on their film choice if they raise concern with a member of staff within 10 minutes of the film starting."

The theater did not say exactly how many moviegoers have requested refunds.
